Best Enchanted Weapon Dark Souls 3: 10 Best Magic Weapons, Ranked

My advice would be to do both of what many of the other people in the thread are saying. Enchant some weapon whose moveset you enjoy to +5 and use it as your crusin' around town weapon. Then keep something +15 Normal so you can use Crystal Magic Weapon on it for bosses, invasions, feeling like a badass, etc. I feel like this is especially good advice because neither upgrade path uses similar ingredients, post Titanite Shards. So upgrading one weapon isn't “stealing” the upgrade from another, as the soul cost is minimal.

I hate “using up” buffs and stuff on normal enemies, and having a weapon whose only really effective for me during a 60 second period just puts me in a rushed mindset.

The Painting Guardian Sword gets a S scaling with Intelligence when made Enchanted +5, but the physical damage can be a bit too low.

That is a great point it is better to stick with a STR or DEX build with magic rather than use a quality weapon. The spread of stat investment will ensure you get maximum damage. Not many weapons get an S scaling.

Just use the weapon with moveset that you like. The only other thing to look at is damage – the higher the better.

I'd recommend sticking with normal weapons and using magic enchants. Magic Weapon and Great Magic Weapon are pretty good, but Crystal Magic Weapon is awesome.

yep- just keep it +15 and use CMW for bosses. with that and power within you will mow through bosses, and you retain the option to benefit from scaling due to str/dex etc.

But what will do more damage. A +15 A dex scaling weapon with min dex and CMW or an enchanted weapon?

Any weapon you prefer (in regards to moveset, anyway). Most weapons lose quite a bit of scaling in regards to dex and str once you make them magic or enchanted, but the scaling with int goes through the roof (at least on enchanted).

I was under the impression that once you upgrade a weapon to a magic track, it loses all scaling with strength and dex.

Any weapon that has a pretty high AR. Zwei, Claymore and so on. I love whit my INT my Enchanted Zwei, it wreak shit..

What people say about 'one you like' is true, but I do recommend the enchanted claymore:

High base damage and A scaling for int at +5. This helps mitigate the split damage, poor scaling problem that plagues many lighter, faster options.

Has a great moveset with a fantastic one handed R2 stab.

Too slow to use as the target of weapon enchants like crystal magic weapon (weapon enchant damage is a set bonus to every hit, so they're better on faster weapons).

Its requirements of 16 str and 10 dex match the Moonlight Greatsword.

So you can enchant the claymore to magic early, grab the enchanted ember from basin with a little panicked run through the forest, farm blue titanite shards from the golems near the hydra, and have a great weapon to get you all the way to Duke's, at which point you switch to the Moonlight Greatsword.

It really depends on your build, my mages tend to be light and lowish soul level (45) rather than heavy. Generally I go for the rapier, bolder ss, scythe or composite short bow.

I think enchanted great club +5 is the weapon with the highest AR in the game (at 50+ int and some str).

I would say go cut off seaths tail and you will get one of the best magic weapons in the game.

Check out a build simulator and you can key in your stats to see what works best.

I would recommend a high base damage weapon.

The magic and enchanted paths are not that good to be honest, thus enchanting say a dagger or falchion, even though they attack faster, would probably be a bad idea, because of how defense thresholds work.
